Cheltenham District's Development Officer
Chris Brewster is supporting Scouting in Cheltenham as a volunteer Development Officer. Chris has many years experience of supporting youth organisations with recruiting adults, development projects and fund raising. Chris’ day job is with the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services where he specialises in Safeguarding and supports national youth organisations.
So what can the District Development Officer do for my Group?
- Work with Leaders in a Group to review what they are doing, decide on future ambitions and develop an action plan.
- Helps identify sources of funding for Group projects and writes funding bids
- Attends meetings at times most Leaders can’t make it.
- Acts as a critical friend to offer advice and support.
- Helps to recruit adults and young people.
- Identifies community resources to support and promote Scouting.
